About Naomi Figueroa Photography

Traveling. Farmer‘s markets. Changing of seasons. Latin America. Cooking. The color blue (definitely not pink). Maine. Fresh fruits and veggies. Photography. Big dogs (if you‘re going to be a dog, be a DOG). Writing. The smell of pine trees. Jesus. Teenagers. Speaking Spanish (or trying, at least). Learning. Fair trade coffee. Dancing salsa with my husband. Nature. Family.

Just a few snippets of my life, but it all comes out in my photography because it is part of who I am. The why of everything I do is to bring glory to God. He is the ultimate Creative and the reason that we have this wonderful gift of being able to create, whether our medium is art or language or technology or music.

I‘m so glad you stopped by my blogsite. I hope you‘ll enjoy exploring a bit. Leave some love in the comments, or send me a note on the contact page! :D

Wedding in Limerick | Kyle and Dana

Monday, October 17th, 2011

The most perfect fall day was before us, with golden sunshine and virtually no humidity. After weeks of heavy rain and flooding in Pennsylvania, it was a welcome respite from the dreary clouds. Dana started her day early with her girls by her side, nerves high while she anxiously prepared for this wonderful journey she had been waiting for. Kyle prepared himself in the simple way guys do, though nothing could quite prepare him for the beauty he was about to see.

Their paths converged at the park where they planned to have their first look, and as Kyle turned around to see his bride, his mouth literally dropped. As they took in this moment together, their nerves began to melt away, and they started their day simply enjoying the time together.

Kyle and Dana’s wedding was such a wonderful celebration of love and friendship for us, and it was such an honor to photograph their day for them. The first look, the vows, the sand ceremony (once they are combined, they are impossible to separate), and the celebration of the evening were some of the highlights for me. Kyle and Dana, blessings to you as you embark on this journey in a covenant relationship with each other. We love you both!

The First Look!

This was probably one of the most touching moments for me–when Dana and Kyle danced, along with their parents, both of whom have been married for many years. They danced to the song that Kyle’s parents danced to at their wedding 29 years ago. Such a beautiful moment.

Abby | Daniel Boone Senior Portraits

Sunday, October 16th, 2011

Abby is the kind of girl whose presence is known when she walks into a room. Outgoing, boisterous, and adventurous, she’s the kind of girl that wants you to laugh out loud with her and enjoy every moment. I’ve had the blessing of seeing her grow from a junior high student to a senior in high school. I’ve been able to get to know her serious side as well as her fun-loving side, both of which are absolutely beautiful.

I was honored to take her senior portraits and hope they show a bit of her beautiful spirit.

This, is Abby. Not content with just a picture in front of the corn, she wants to be IN the corn as well! Always adventurous and fun.

Abby, you have such a beautiful confidence and zeal for life. It’s truly contagious, and I know you want to spread that joy to others. Continue to find your confidence and strength in God as you go throughout life, and He will guide you and sustain you!

Blessings,

Naomi
